AUTOMATED RAILWAY GATE LEVEL CROSSING SCRUTINIZE AND CONTROL SYSTEM
OBJECTIVE:
Aim of this project is control the unmanned rail gate automatically using embedded platform. Today often we see news papers very often about the railway accidents happening at un- attended railway gates. Present project is designed to avoid such accidents if implemented in spirit.
The project has been proposed based on RF communication. The RF usually consists of encoder/decoder parts connected to a transmitter/receiver module which takes care of the transmission of digital signals by radio frequency. The RF range here implemented is 100 feet in indoor system and in outdoor it will work up to 200 feet without noise.
Discipline:
This project utilizes two powerful IR transmitter and four receivers, two pairs of transmitter and receiver is fixed at up side (from the train comes) at a level higher than human being in exact alignment and similarly other two pairs are fixed at down side of the train direction   sensor activation time is so adjusted by calculating the time taken at a certain speed to cross at least one compartment, normally 5 seconds.
These project sensors are fixed at some distance on both side of the gate. When train cross the fore side sensor it gives signal to the gate receiver to close the gate. In the receiver side the buzzer is activated to clear the gate area for drivers about 5 seconds. When train crosses down side sensors it gives signal to open the gate.
The motor circuit was operated by the driver circuit by controller through relay unit according receiving signal from both side of the track. If there is any problem in the gate means it will operate red signal on both side fro the driver indication.
This project is implemented using RF Transmitter/Receiver,ATMEL micro-controller, IR Transmitter/Receiver, driver unit for control gate.
