DC MOTOR SPEED SCRUTINIZEING AND CONTROLLING USING THYRISTOR

Abstract:

The Embedded Technology is now in its prime and the wealth of knowledge available is mind-blowing. Embedded technology plays a major role in integrating the various functions associated with it. This needs to tie up the various sources of the Department in a closed loop system. This proposal greatly reduces the manpower, saves time and operates efficiently without human interference. This project puts forth the first step in achieving the desired target. With the advent in technology, the existing systems are developed to have in built intelligence. 

This paper “DC MOTOR SPEED SCRUTINIZEING AND  CONTROLLING USING THYRISTOR” deals with the control of the DC motor by one of its variable (i.e.) speed. This project consists of Power supply, single phase AC-DC converter, DC motor, triggering circuits & other components.
The DC motor is controlled by means of the single phase AC-DC converter. This single phase converter consists of thyristor devices and these switching devices are triggered by means of the gate signals. The gate signals are provided by the triggering circuits.
When the power supply is switched on the single phase converter with the help of the thyristor circuits converts the AC supply to DC supply. The control of the speed is accomplished by the control of the gate signals by means of the triggering circuits and hence the speed control of the DC motor is achieved.
