REAL TIME PASSENGER INFORMATION SYSTEM USING ZIGBEE TECHNOLOGY

Abstract:

          Embedded is a combination of software and hardware, when a technology is used to do a particular task it is called embedded system. Embedded system is widely used automobiles, industrial automation, home appliances, mobile and aeronautics. Embedded technology uses PC or a controller to do the specified task and the programming is done using assembly language programming or embedded C.
Now more than ever, embedded systems designers are recognizing the value of wireless. From home light switches and entertainment systems to industrial controls to remote monitoring and communications, wireless is permeating an increasing variety of applications that might once have been thought of as either standalone or otherwise happily tethered to a wire of some sort. Wireless innovations are in the process of changing the way we live and work by giving people access to more information than they ever imagined. 
In this project we are using the embedded technology to inform the blind regarding the approaching bus. This project consists of encoder which constantly gives the input to Zigbee Transceiver. Zigbee Transceiver continuously transmits the information of the bus to blind person at the frequency of 1 - 2 GHz. Blind person has the receiver which receives Zigbee signal if the blind person is near the bus. Receiver consists of the decoder which decodes the signal and the decoded signal is given as input to the micro controller, which compares obtained information and stored value. Microcontroller is programmed in such a way that based on this comparison there will be a voice announcement to the blind person as which bus is approaching.

ADVANTAGE:
  • It is very much useful for Blind people
  • It is used to pick the appropriate bus in bus stop

  • Used in Airways
  • Used in public sectors & bank
