Automatic Railway Controller with Wireless Connectivity

Automatic Railway Controller with Wireless Connectivity
Abstract:
An embedded system is a special-purpose computer system designed to perform a dedicated function. Since the system is dedicated to specific tasks, design engineers can optimize it, reducing the size and cost of the product. Embedded system is fast growing technology in various fields like industrial automation, home appliances, automobiles, aeronautics etc. Embedded technology uses PC or a controller to do the specified task and the programming is done using assembly language programming or embedded C.
Now more than ever, embedded systems designers are recognizing the value of wireless. From home light switches and entertainment systems to industrial controls to remote monitoring and communications, wireless is permeating an increasing variety of applications that might once have been thought of as either standalone or otherwise happily tethered to a wire of some sort.
This project “Automatic Railway Gate Control” provides a mechanism to close the gate when the train is in vicinity, thereby preventing the accidents. The transmitter is fitted with the train which transmits the RF signal continuously. The receiver which placed near the gate detects the signal when the train reaches certain distance which can be programmed. Microcontroller is programmed to drive a mechanism to close the gate and raise an alert.
Hardware Requirements:

§  Microcontroller Unit and Power Supply
